Last Day at YoungVoice

Sadly it’s my last day here at YoungVoice, but I can happily say it has been so much fun! Not to mention how much I have learnt.

 

Today I was working on my website, and actually broke it to the point where I couldn’t get on the website as the admin, but with a load of thinking from me and Andy we have managed to get it all back using htp files using heart internet, PHEW, not to mention doing it in less than 45 mins, winning a bet with Andy earning myself £20.

 

I have also learnt more on invoicing, and giving people refunds through actually seeing it be done in a real business.

 

Overall I’m sad I’m leaving YoungVoice, so glad I came here, never would have gotten as far along with my website without Andy’s help,

Week 3 – Michael Baalham

So its my third week here at YongVoice, and I have enjoyed it so much. I have learnt so much more than I anticipated or expected.

My favourite thing I have done it made my own website! My website is called Velvet Monster and its going to sell bright, colorful alternative clothing. I still have a lot of work to do on the site, but its up if you want to see what iv done already. I wouldn’t have been able to do it with out the help of Andy and YoungVoice so thanks!

 

I have been working on a few other websites, adding pages for people, and also making websites from scratch with just their guidelines in what they want on their website.

 

I have also learnt a lot about a business cash flow forecast, which is vital for any business.

Week 2 Tuesday – Michael’s Blog

Hi, im Michael and this is Tuesday week 2 here at young voice

Today I have been working on a website called louandpaul2012 which is a website for Lou’ and Paul’s wedding, it will have their wedding photos on there, and people can post what they think of the wedding, or what ever they want to.

Also the cool thing is that soon you will be able to buy them their wedding gifts from the website using PayPal, and the gifts on there will be exactly what they want, like a bottle of wine, or a camel ride in the sunset.

I am really happy with what I have done with the website.

My 2nd and 3rd Day At YoungVoice – Michael Baalham

Tusday,

First of all, i met Sam who works here at YoungVoice, and i spoke to him about our bussines plans and he seems to be a really nice guy.

Today i have learnt about pricing stratageis. This is massivly important to have the right price for anything in bussines, you want to make sure you give the customer a good deal but at the same time earn some money. Done through adding up all the costs of the product/service.

 

Wednesday,

So today i have been learning about how to make a ecomerse website, and what information to include in selling items/servises. Andy let me see what his products database looked like, and all the information it included. I have to say i didn’t think it had to be nearly as detailed as it was.

My First Day Learning With YoungVoice

Hi, i’m Michael and im doing a workplacment for part of my BTEC at YoungVoice. This is my online blog telling you all about what I get up to.

 

So it’s my first day at my work placement with YoungVoice, and I have already learnt the importance in business ethics, how it affects Andy and his businesses, and how it will affect me when i launch mine.

 

One of the first things i did was learnt was how to imbed an email adress into a website/post as i did here.

 

I am also being introduced to WordPress, how to create a website using it, and making it easy and fun to use, through adding widgets, hyperlinks and loads more.

 

Andy is also teaching me about SEO (search engine optimization), how it works and how to use it effectively. This is going to be really useful when i apply it to my business.

 

Can’t wait to learn more!
